Antioch Youth Ministry
Our goal is to ensure the equipping of young people grades 6th- 12th to be strong disciples for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, using all appropriate methods to excite, inspire, capture and ignite young people for Jesus. We believe that not only are the youth of our community are the future of the church, but the here and now of the church. We (the youth) can also glorify our God through fellowship, study, worship, and service. We will constantly strive to follow God’s will and thus be that beacon of light for not only our families and friends, but for our entire community.
Mar. 4th- Youth to Flat Rock Baptist for a Youth Sunday Event
Mar. 16th- I Can Only Imagine Movie Night
Apr. 2nd-6th- Youth Mission/Activity Week (various projects and small activities)
Apr. 29th- Youth Sunday
First of all, let me thank everyone who made the Kristin Goins Memorial Breakfast a huge success. Thank you to all the adults and youth who worked tirelessly all day February 3rd cooking and serving breakfast to well over 500 people. Also, thank you to everyone who donated any money towards the Scholarship. It is a great blessing to be able to put over $5600 toward a scholarship that will help so many young people in our community while honoring a special young lady in the process of it. At this point though we ask that if you would like to still contribute to the Kristin Goins Memorial Scholarship, that you do not write a check or send money through the church. Please send any donations now to the Surry County Educational Foundation and they will get it to the right place. Thank you again for making that day a special day for our community and for our own church family. We attended Winter Jam on February 24th. We had a total of 10 to go and enjoy sensational music from top artists in the Christian music industry, such as Kari Jobe, Jordan Feliz, Building 429, and Skillet! We were not able to do a Youth Sunday for Flat Rock Baptist this past month (due to the weather), but we are excited to have another opportunity coming up on March 4th. It will be a combined service at 10 AM. Please be in prayer for us as we hope to bring inspiration to a church in our community. I am also eager to see the new upcoming movie “I Can Only Imagine,” with our youth group. The movie is the story of one of the most popular Christian songs of all time. It looks to be a fantastic and inspirational movie, and we will be blessed to take the opportunity and go and see it. Finally, starting the first week of April during spring break, we hope to do various activities together as a youth group from bowling, foot golf, etc every day during that week, but we would also love to do a small mission project on each of those days as well. If you need or if you know anyone with a need please let me know so we can schedule a day during that week for us to help you or another person with that need. Please pray as we continue our Fuel Ignited Study on Wednesdays and our Book of Revelation Study on Sunday Nights. I hope that this year will continue to be a blessed year for everyone. My door is always open, and I will welcome you in or arrange a meeting time that we can sit down and discuss what is on your heart. This again goes toward ALL YOUTH and ADULTS for that matter. As with any of this information if you have any questions please feel free to ask! My email is firstname.lastname@example.org and my cell phone number is 336-816-8474. Thank you for support and have a blessed month!
Love in Christ,
Rev. Joshua Summerlin
