Antioch Youth Ministry
Our goal is to ensure the equipping of young people grades 6th- 12th to be strong disciples for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, using all appropriate methods to excite, inspire, capture and ignite young people for Jesus. We believe that not only are the youth of our community are the future of the church, but the here and now of the church. We (the youth) can also glorify our God through fellowship, study, worship, and service. We will constantly strive to follow God’s will and thus be that beacon of light for not only our families and friends, but for our entire community.
Calendar of Events–
Aug. 20th- Youth Summer Mission Report (Youth Sunday- 11 AM)
Aug. 27th- Annual Youth Parent Meeting – 5 pm
Wow what a summer! It has been a crazy summer for our youth
group starting off with our senior recognition on the first weekend in
June. VBS the following week while competing for the largest class. Our
13 Bones BBQ Fundraiser was on June 16th was a tremendous success in
netting over $3500 for our summer trip to Louisville, KY. A special
thank you to all who helped us with donations rather it was through des-
serts, time/help, purchasing/selling plates. You all made it possible! With
all that being said that led us to our summer trip to Louisville, KY.
It was a awesome trip! I need to give a big thank you to our
chaperones: Keith York, Kevin Westmoreland, Annette Hughes, Tim &
Caroline Crabb, and Hannah Bowman. They worked very hard right
alongside of our youth and the other churches for the kingdom of God.
Our youth shared the week with three other churches. A Lutheran church
in Maryland, a Methodist Church in Virginia, and another Methodist
Church in Indiana. Our group was pushed in several different new ways.
We will be excited to share our experiences with you all on August 20th
at the 11 o’clock Service (and don’t forget the Brooklyn Mission Team
will also speak at the 8:30 Service). Thank you all for all the prayers be-
fore, during, and after our trip for they have been heard!
We will be having small fun get-togethers throughout the rest
of the summer. We currently do not have any big events planned, but the
hope is to meet as many times as possible as a group to create excitement
and new relationships for the new opportunities to come this next church
year. We do have two events that I need parents and youth to begin think-
ing on if they would like to attend. One being a Carolina Panthers game
on October 12th (Thursday Night), and Winterfest at Liberty University
at the end of December (Typically Dec. 30- Jan 1). Please let me know if
you can attend, as I will be asking the youth and texting parents to remind
them of these potential events with date, time, and potential deposit
I pray that as summer winds down, and the schools starts enter-
ing our minds that our focus will always remain on Christ. That being
said, all activities both Sunday and Wednesday will be all continuing to
provide an opportunity for our group to learn and better connect with
God. I am excited to share so of my plans for the group on our upcoming
Parent Meeting on August 26th, at 5 PM. My door is always open, and I
will welcome you in or arrange a meeting time that we can sit down and
discuss what is on your heart. This again goes toward ALL YOUTH and
ADULTS for that matter. As with any of this information if you have
any questions please feel free to ask! My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
and my cell phone number is 336-816-8474. Thank you
for support and have a blessed month!
